Did you know that people blogging in Indonesia are 52 times sadder than the average worldwide bloggers. We know this because the way we understand people’s emotions is undergoing a revolution – a quiet revolution, but revolution none the less. We are creating new ways to tap into what people are feeling and it may change the way we engage with customers and our employees in the not too distant future.
Through my exciting journey at RESPONSE I have been very lucky to work with some very talented and committed people. The work they do has inspired me and has made me feel very privileged to have known and worked with them all. Some great examples of this work can be seen throughout the business and are interwoven with some of the stories they remind me of…At the weekend I was dragged kicking and screaming to watch the famous educationalist Sir Ken Robinson (I see you going - “who?”) and to my surprise his vision for education struck a real chord with me so much so I watched it several times and subsequent lectures to boot.

A simple but good example is the story of the ‘truel’.
I was walking in the park with my little boy the other day and he turned to me and, with a face full of 3 year old seriousness, asked “If ducks are birds then how come they can swim?” I paused for a second and then launched into a full explanation about waterproof feathers, trapped air and webbed feet for swimming. I felt pretty pleased with the answer and was preparing myself for what I thought was the next question - probably about the shape of the bill - when he asked, "Daddy, what do you do at work all day?"
