RESPONSE commitment earns environmental certification

ISO 14001 certification awarded to RESPONSE recognises the hard work of dedicated employees

RESPONSE, the leading Glasgow-based contact centre management business, has demonstrated its commitment to the environment by achieving ISO 14001 certification.

The international standard was awarded to RESPONSE following a three-day external audit of its environmental management system and recognises the hard work of the company’s staff and dedicated environmental team.

Led by Keith Geddes, RESPONSE’s Financial Director, the team focused on improving environmental efficiency and reducing waste across all three of the company’s sites in Glasgow.

The ISO 14001 certificate is approved by Lloyd’s Registration Quality Assurance and demonstrates that RESPONSE has fulfilled the terms set out by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service.

RESPONSE signed up to the 10:10 initiative with the aim of reducing its carbon footprint by 10% by October 2010. RESPONSE more than exceeded this figure by achieving an impressive 20% reduction and double the original target.

To raise environmental awareness and reduce the firm’s carbon footprint, RESPONSE also established the environmental team, and launched a Go Green Campaign to encourage staff to get involved.

Keith said: “At RESPONSE we are totally committed to being an environmentally-friendly business and our employees have really got behind our Go Green activities. Introducing an environmental policy of this kind is not only good for the planet but also provides financial benefits through cost savings.

“This certification is testament to the tremendous efforts of everybody involved and hopefully will inspire others in the contact centre industry to put sustainability at the heart of everything they do.”
