RESPONSE lads race to the finish line

PDFPrint

It was the RESPONSE lads’ turn to take to the racetrack, as 8 of our boys took part in the Men’s 10K.

Organised by Men’s Health Forum to raise awareness of health and wellbeing, we also used this opportunity to raise even more funds for our charity of the year, Yorkhill Children's Foundation.

Giving up a relaxing Father’s Day, the lads of RESPONSE did a fantastic job of running the 6.2miles and raising over £1215 for Yorkhill, exceeding their target by 22%! The team was made up of employees from across the business including operational and management staff.

Following a company-wide vote, RESPONSE chose Yorkhill Children’s Foundation as its charity partner. The money raised will be put towards in-patient simultaneous EEG/Video telemetry equipment, which is used to help diagnose children with epilepsy, one of the most common serious neurological disorders of childhood. It will be placed in Yorkhill’s Fraser of Allander Neurosciences Unit and will allow the team there to provide gold standard treatment to children with epilepsy.

Alan Dickie, Business Transformation Director at RESPONSE says: “The dedication and hard work which our guys have thrown behind their preparation for the Men’s 10k is fantastic. Yorkhill Children’s Foundation is close to the hearts of many in RESPONSE, and all our employees are proud to support this worthwhile cause, whether by taking part or donating those ever important funds.”

Chief Executive of Yorkhill Children’s Foundation, Shona Cardle added: “The team in Yorkhill’s Fraser of Allander Unit and everyone at Yorkhill Children’s Foundation is hugely grateful to RESPONSE for all their hardwork and excellent fundraising. This new medical equipment will make a significant difference to the hospital and will allow us to diagnose and treat many more children with epilepsy than ever before.”
